Clinical Council seeks new members
The Stroke Foundation is seeking to fill two vacancies on its Clinical Council.
Expressions of interest are invited and must be received by 5pm on 6 October 2022.
Stroke Foundation is a national not-for-profit organisation that works with stroke survivors, carers, health professionals, government, and the public to reduce the impact of stroke on the Australian community. Our mission is to Prevent Stroke, Save Lives, Enhance Recovery.
The Clinical Council is a subcommittee of the Board and is responsible for providing advice and clinical input to the Board and the work of Stroke Foundation on: strategy, clinical guidelines, clinical audit, public health and policy documents, Stroke Foundation publications (e.g. fact sheets, brochures), presentations, and publications in peer reviewed journals and questions received from the general public and media.
Stroke Foundation is a bi-partisan organisation that delivers advocacy activities in line with the guidelines of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).
Guidelines for expression of interest
To ensure a balance of expertise on the Clinical Council, candidates must be from a medical (rehabilitation, geriatrics or general medicine) or physiotherapy background and must submit a written application to be considered.
Stroke Foundation values diversity and brings together leading clinicians, academics and researchers in the area of stroke. Members are invited to join based on their expertise, availability and willingness to meet the requirements outlined.
There is no application form. Your application should include information about:
- Your expertise and ability to provide advice and clinical input on clinical guidelines, strategy, clinical audit or public health and policy documents.
- Why you want to join the Clinical Council
- Your ability to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined in the position description
- How you will represent Stroke Foundation.
The written application should be no more than two pages long.
Stroke Foundation will consider each applicant's ability to perform the duties and responsibilities in the position description.
A minimum of two nominations for each position is required for consideration. Stroke Foundation reserves the right to extend the closing date for applications where two nominations are not received.
Only short-listed candidates will be contacted for interviews.
