Self-management
Stroke survivors may find they have impairments and decreased independence, but it’s important for them to adapt and be as active as they can in managing their daily lives. Stroke-specific and other self-management programs address any lifestyle modifications necessary to reduce the risk of further stroke, as well as adaptation to changes in physical and cognitive ability, relationships, place of residence and community participation. It can also include self-directed treatment and help in setting and attaining goals.
