Return to work
It’s commonly estimated that about forty per cent of working-aged stroke survivors wish to return to work, depending on factors like age and disability. Returning to work benefits the stroke survivor’s economic situation, relationships and leisure activities, so even if the previous occupation is ruled out, other vocational options—including retraining or volunteer work—should be explored.
