Stroke Foundation’s 2025 Research Grants are now open

The 2025 grant round offers a range of opportunities for researchers and people with lived experience to test new ideas in stroke prevention, treatment and recovery, and build their capacity in stroke research.

Seed Grants

Seed Grants of up to $80,000 each are available to early- to early-mid-career researchers, for projects of up to 18-months addressing (at least one of) our research priority areas:

  1. Research in priority populations (as defined) in any stage of care.
  2. Translational and implementation research.
  3. Long-term community support beyond 6 months post-stroke.
  4. Long-term psychosocial recovery beyond 6 months post-stroke.

Future Leader/Future Leader with Lived Experience Grants

Early- and mid-career researchers and people with lived experience are encouraged to apply for our Future Leader Grants.

These grants aim to:

  • Develop leadership skills
  • Increase potential for successful collaboration
  • Build confidence and capabilities to contribute to stroke research.

Grants of up to $5,000 are offered for a stroke research development activity in 2025. Applications for smaller amounts are encouraged.
