Seed-funding grants available from the Stroke Trials CRE
The new Stroke Trials CRE has announced its first call for applications for seed funding, with grants of up to $50,000 for innovative stroke trial projects.
Backing the next generation of stroke trials is an important part of the purpose of the CRE, officially known as the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Centre of Research Excellence for Stroke Innovation and Translation.
Commencing operations in March 2023, this national initiative includes some 20 grant holders from 12 Universities and Medical Research Institutes from five States, and in partnership with the Stroke Foundation. As well as funding trials, it also aims to build workforce capacity, ensure collaboration, and support new recruiting sites – the first of which is in Townsville, Queensland.
In order to qualify for the seed-funding grants, you need to be an affiliate or grant holder of the CRE. However, the affiliate application can be submitted at the same time as the grant application.
Further details can be found in the Grant instructions (PDF). The deadline for submissions is 31 March 2024.
Information about the grants, and links to the forms are also available on the Stroke Trials CRE website, along with news, resources, research and funding opportunities, updates about the CRE's work and researchers and consumer supporters.
