Solution focused brief therapy for people with aphasia
Sarah’s research interests lie in exploring ways to support the emotional and social wellbeing of people living with stroke and aphasia. She received the UK Stroke Association Jack and Averil (Mansfield) Bradley Fellowship Award for Stroke Research, which enabled her to lead the SOFIA Trial, exploring solution focused brief therapy for people with aphasia. More recently, she has been awarded funding from the Sir Halley Stewart Trust to set up an innovative clinical service offering psychological support to people with aphasia, based at the City St George's University clinic. She is also a co-investigator on research studies exploring telehealth, peer befriending and intensive aphasia therapy.
