Brain Injury Australia Health Symposium 2026

Thursday 12 November 2026

Aerial Function Centre
UTS, Sydney NSW

Founded in 1986, Brain Injury Australia is the national peak advocacy organisation representing the needs of the 700,000 Australians with a brain injury, their families and carers – the Voice of Brain Injury. We provide policy advice to governments, participate in research and lead multi-year public awareness campaigns collaborating with our partners across the Brain Injury community.

Brain disorders affect millions of Australians and are now among the leading causes of disability, illness and reduced quality of life.

For people living with brain-related conditions, improving quality of life should be the primary objective of care and support. This encompasses the disciplines from initial intervention and critical care through to the health, healthcare, rehabilitation and community support that are so necessary; and these need to be joined up.

This symposium for the “Brain Injury Community” is bringing healthcare professionals, researchers, educators, advocacy organisations, industry and policymakers and those who research all aspects of brain injury together with people with lived experience and their carers, with a goal of meaningful interventions leading to improved functioning and quality of life.

We gather to learn more, advocate widely, raise national awareness and bring hope through better care and support. Our efforts will underpin understanding and progress by embedding the insights of lived experience into the processes of research, translation and practice.

By forging solidarity among Australia’s brain health community we can make Brain Health and Access for All a national priority.
