The Centre of Research Excellence in Aphasia Recovery and Rehabilitation (Aphasia CRE) warmly invites you to attend the Aphasiology Symposium of Australasia 2022.
The theme of this event is “Reconnecting” and in this spirit attendees are invited to gather again in person for this event at La Trobe University, Bundoora Campus, Melbourne on Friday 4 November 2022.
The Symposium will provide high quality research and clinical innovation presentations through oral and poster presentations, and lightning talks. The symposium will be a great networking opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas with our keynote speaker, presenters and delegates.

Keynote speaker

Dr Annie Hill will present on the growth of telerehabilitation for aphasia and which processes maximise accessibility for people with aphasia and uptake by clinicians. She will also provide an update of the outcomes from the TeleCHAT project which is the first ICAP to be delivered via telerehabilitation. Dr Hill will also discuss some future directions for technology-enabled aphasia services.
Dr Annie Hill is a speech pathologist and the senior conjoint research fellow between the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at The University of Queensland and the Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Services (STARS) in Metro North Health, in Brisbane, Queensland. Annie is the leading researcher of telerehabilitation in aphasia and has a keen interest in the use of technology to enable evidence-based therapy for communication disorders. She is co-author of the Speech Pathology Australia position statement on telepractice and the principles of practice guide for telepractice.
