Presented by Dr Claire Bennington, Australian Aphasia Association
This presentation summarises Claire’s PhD research and will:
- redefine what we mean by aphasia awareness
- summarise what stakeholders have done to raise awareness of aphasia internationally and the barriers and facilitators to raising awareness
- describe international priorities for a unified campaign
- outline the codesigned international campaign blueprint and operationalisation plan.
Dr Claire Bennington is a UK-trained speech and language therapist with extensive experience working with people with aphasia in a range of clinical settings in the UK and Australia.
Claire is honoured to be the current Chairperson of the Australian Aphasia Association, having been a board member since 2018.
