Endovascular clot retrieval

Overview

Endovascular clot retrieval (ECR) is indicated for patients with acute ischemic stroke due to a large artery occlusion in the anterior circulation (this represents approximately 10% of all ischaemic strokes). This module provides evidence-based information to assist you with the assessment and referral of patients for ECR.

Learning objectives

  • Define ECR.
  • Identify who is eligible for ECR.
  • Describe the protocol for assessment and referral for ECR.
