Early Mobilisation
Improve the delivery of early rehabilitation to stroke survivors.
This is a decision-making tool to assist physiotherapists deliver safe and effective evidence-based rehabilitation in acute settings. It consists of clinical reasoning flowcharts to enable effective decision making to select evidence-based training strategies that can be achieved in acute settings. Videos are used to illustrate the critical features needed to ensure safe and effective training.
The project was initiated by a group of Sydney-based physiotherapists working in acute and rehabilitation settings who were aware of the difficulties faced in providing effective therapy in acute rehabilitation settings where barriers can include: lack of stroke rehabilitation experience, low levels of staffing and equipment, and high levels of disability of stroke survivors.
