Be a F.A.S.T. Hero in Stroke Week
National Stroke Week (2–8 September 2019) is the Stroke Foundation's annual awareness campaign, urging Australians when they recognise the F.A.S.T. signs of stroke to call an ambulance, thereby potentially saving a life.
This year, we’re calling all those individuals who recognise the signs of stroke F.A.S.T. Heroes.
Stroke can impact anyone of any age, with more than 80 per cent of strokes showing at least one of the F.A.S.T. signs of stroke.
That’s why we want everyone to get involved in Stroke Week, as we strive for all Australians to recognise the F.A.S.T. signs of stroke. By hosting an event you’re helping spread the word.
We are also encouraging our hospital and allied health communities to take part in our Stroke Week Superhero Competition. The prize will be a fully-catered celebration for you and your team. To be in with a chance of winning teams need to:
- Register and host a Stroke Week event
- Grab your colleagues and dress to impress in your best superhero outfits
- Take a photo of your outfits at your event, and send to firstname.lastname@example.org
We’re expecting more than 2,000 activities to be held right around the country, including information stalls, morning teas, talks from stroke survivors, health checks, and personal or team challenges.
Event registrations can also be made on the Stroke Week website.
